named in the memory of a very great man, Traci's father, Ray "Tracker"
Barbee. We lost him way too soon to a motorcycle accident in 2008.
Ray "Tracker" Barbee 11/2/49-6/29/08 Ray "Tracker" Barbee 11/2/49-6/29/08 Rayford S. "Tracker" Barbee, 58, of Albany passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Interment was in Floral Memory Gardens on Pretoria Rd. in the Veteran's section. Rayford S. "Tracker" Barbee was born November 2, 1949 in Cairo, GA. Tracker was a member of the Independent Harley Riders of Albany and an Associate of the Remaining Few Motorcycle Club, also of Albany. He was a 6 year veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the world's first nuclear submarine, U.S.S. Nautilus. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, competition smoker cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Darlene Adams Barbee of Albany; three daughters, Traci Lynn Velez of Wadsworth, IL, Karen Denise Parr and her husband, Chris of Worth County, and Stefny Gail Ankney and her husband, John of Oceanside, CA; his mother, Edna Barbee, sister, Jean Ansley and her husband, Larry of Cairo; nine grandchildren, Chris, Christina, Ashely, Alex, Sydney, Kevin, DeAaron, Zac, and Tori; close friends and extended family include, Paul and Barbara Price, Darel and Leia Blakey, Gene Vredenberg, and Ed Nofi. Tracker Fire is sadly sharing condolences with another great man, Richard "Chief" Murray, Traci's step-father. We lost him way too soon to cancer on September 10, 2015.
PO1 Richard K. “Chief” Murray served in the US Navy from 1959-1981. A Vietnam Veteran with 3 tours, for which he earned 3 Vietnam Service Medals. During his Service Richard was also awarded Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation with Gallantry Cross, 4 Good Conduct Awards while turning down the Purple Heart Award.
Born 01/23/1943, Passed 09/10/2015. Richard was a Native American Cherokee. He was a Life Time member of the VFW, an avid Motorcycle Rider and member of the The Remaining Few Motorcycle Club. The Memorial Service will take part at their Albany Club House.
